Out of tune & out of time - Josh 249
Ed Davey's performance yesterday at the Energy and Climate Change Committee, posted here, was a mix of horror and farce. DECC seem to live in a make believe world where increases in costs cost less and policies which increase carbon emissions will somehow magically decrease them, one day, somehow, somewhere.
What a pantomime.

In a bid to outdo the 10:10 campaign the SkS kidz have launched a Hiroshima app. What a great idea!
H/t Watts up with that. And there is a related video by Bob Tisdale here.

And this isn't a cartoon about this story which Nigel Lawson never talked about in the Spectator.
Glad that's settled.

Murry Salby was in the UK a couple of weeks ago. He gave an interesting and technical lecture which was fun to draw notes for. I will update with lecture notes if I can get hold of any - they might help with some of the more obscure scribings.

Steve McIntyre has a hilarious post about Lewandowsky and Mann drawing conclusions from of a sample size of zero. So I drew my own conclusions.

Sunday before last there was an interesting story by Jonathan Leake in the Sunday Times. He writes "The Green Deal, the government’s flagship home energy-saving scheme, which was meant to create up to 60,000 jobs by 2015, has instead caused up to 7,000 redundancies, with more likely to follow."
You can read more The GWPF here or at the Sunday Times here.

Tamsin Edwards has been 'in the tweets' again for flagrantly trying to communicate with sceptics.
Apparently this is a 'bad' thing to do, and she has been roundly criticised both on Twitter and on the somewhat confessionally titled blog 'Hot Whopper'. This feels slightly odd as we are often assured that the only problem with sceptics and Climate Science is one of communication.
You would think that actually communicating might be a good thing but apparently not. Mad. As mad as a well hatted mad hatter with mad hats on a mad hat day. Doing some Mad Hatting.

Now added some mangled Shakespeare to the cartoon. Thankyou Phillip Bratby for the quote and for noticing the hockey stick. I have added Anthony's description of it, also noted by JJ over at WUWT. So a big Hat tip to all three of you!

On Sunday I went to a Battle of Ideas debate/seminar titled "What is 'new environmentalism'?" produced by Ben Pile who was also on the panel. This included Mark Lynas, Joe Smith and Casper Hewett with Timandra Harkness as the very able and amusing chair.
