A well cooked survey - Josh 218

Lots of blogs helping John Cook out here, especially Lucia and Brandon over at The Blackboard where Brandon has just discovered that the survey of 12,000 papers, is, in fact, not a survey of 12,000 papers but a selection of papers based on John's own idea of which should be chosen. Wow.

It looks like he is watching CACC (Catastrophic Anthropogenic Climate Change) circling in the bowl.

These are not easy days for the CACCistocrats.

Are those watermelon sox little John is wearing?

He looks like he is flushed of cheeks.

Perhaps he has been straining himself too much over his big jobbies and is anal-ysing his output which, as we all know, is s**t

Nice one Josh

Nice one Josh.

Cook is the most pathetic creature in the entire AGW cast. He was raised from the age of 4 by a family of super intelligent wombats near the British nuclear test site of Woomera and graduated with a joint honours degree in mendacity with confusion from Kangaroo Station Outback University in Woolawoolagoolagong.

Cook is a born again Christian and his little climate friend, Dana Nuccitelli is a scientologist. You couldn't make it up.

@eSmiff

I don't think that's the same Dana Nuccitelli.

Well, who would have guessed that there is a scientologist Nuccitelli and a plain, regular Nuccitelli.

That apart, Dana Nuccitelli addresses himself as a scientist. Even some scientists whom I know hesitate to give themselves that appellation.

Pretty poor comments. I don't agree with sks and think the survey ridiculous, but descending to toilet humour does little for this venerable site.

Scientific American is still flogging the discredited "Moon Landing" paper:

Climate change denial, laissez-faire economics and conspiracy theories: A productive pairing?

Turning Tide;

And they are still referring to Tropical Storm Sandy as a hurricane.

All the evidence I can find is that Sandy was a Cat1 hurricane when she hit New York though she had weakened to a tropical storm for a time.
As with Katrina there were aggravating factors, not least what might be called the "angle of attack" and the fact that she decided to join forces with another storm coming up from the south-west.
But, hey, a hurricane's a hurricane, isn't it, and this has gotta be global warming, doesn't it? The sheeple don't know any different; tell 'em any old rubbish and keep the faith, baby!
Only in this case they were, as far as I can tell, at least technically correct in their use of the word 'hurricane'. Though I doubt it would have made any difference if they hadn't been!

Isabelle - you're probably in the fortunate position of not having to fund this ersatz climate science "research". Unfortunately as an Australian taxpayer I am. So a cartoon about a dunny is very appropriate in this instance. Since the whole sorry business is a load of crap.

@ Mike Jackson

The National Hurricane Centre issued its formal report on Sandy on 12th February. At landfall, it was categorized as a post-tropical cyclone.

Mike Jackson & DavidR tks for comments, apologies for delay in replying, I'm gardening today. War declared on weeds, ants and grass grubs. Our local Robin just loves the grubs.

Between the age of 6-7 my sister would with great fan fare declare to the family to come and take a look at the big girl poop in the loo.

She grew out of showing her crap to the world, it seems some people don't.

Josh, as always simple idea drawn in an excellent and thoughtful way.
