It's voting, Jim, but not as we know it - Josh 220

An interesting way of voting - see here and here.

The Яoyal Societsky. Why does that tickle me so much?

Have another vodka on me, comrade Josh.

A glimpse into the dreaming brain of Paul Nurse? Nightmarish stuff.

It amuses that many of those opposed to creationism (as I am) are equally for economic-creationism.

Briliant cartoon, Josh. One of the best. Maybe "Top of the Pops".

Your grace - how about a lighthearted popularity poll for the best cartoon from Josh?

P.S.*
All the Cyrillic (and other European languages) is great but any chance of a translation to go with them?
* Latin, of course

In the interests of saving the trees, we will not bother with a voting paper for the next EU elections.

Or voting.

"In the interests of saving the trees, we will not bother with a voting paper for the next EU elections. Or voting." --Latimer Alder

The on-line election will require no paper and will be designed by Stephan Lewandowsky. Peter Gleick will fabricate the votes. James Hansen will count them and do the necessary homogenization, adjustment, and interpolation. Rajendra Pachauri will announce the results. Kevin Trenberth will say, "It's a travesty. But it's a good travesty."

Josh! You are so maddening!

Every other week or so, I think you've just put up the greatest climate lampoon art ever. Then a couple of weeks later, (maximum), I think the same thought.

Several times I've thought, this one is going to be a tough drawing to top.

Well, this time I really really think you've hit a pinnacle piece!

Absolutely terrific picture! I think this one should get airplay (of course with compensation to you) in the newspapers.

I look forward to when you make me eat my pinnacle praise words again; probably in a couple of weeks.

Reminds me of "We call this building consensus" in Sleepalot's poem Scaring the Proles - well worth re-reading!

Josh, that one is going to hurt. Positively Hogarthian in impact. Brilliant.

That surely was worth re-reading! Thank you, Ruth Dixon.

They call it building consensus: it's easy enough
if you can keep a straight face: like the trend,
and the scale, and the narrative, and the tipping point,
which in our case we have not got; and the skeptics
excluded from every arena, and the advocates going backwards and forwards,
For today we have scaring the proles.

Superb!

Actually this is rather unfair since the Soviet equivalent of the Royal Society (Akademia Nauk) was the only organization in the USSR that used secret ballots, which indeed resulted in balloting occasionally going the "wrong" way.

I especially liked this cartoon, Josh, illustrating that the climate movement is but a 1945 disguise covering the reincarnated spirit of Stalin.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/Peaceful_Resolution.pdf

It also illustrates warnings left behind by five knowledgeable authors from 1945-46:

1. Dr. Kazuo Kuroda of The Imperial University of Tokyo,
2. Professor Fred Hoyle of Cambridge University,
3. David Snell, reporter for The Atlanta Constitution,
4. George Orwell, author of Nineteen-Eighty-Four (“1984″), and
5. Robert Jungk, author of Brighter than a Thousand Suns: A Personal History of the Atomic Scientists.

Here are links to their books and reports:
